My Beautiful Textures Texture Manageability System (TMS) Experience

So. I'll be for first to admit that I love rocking weaves and braids. I may well be a certified weaveaholic. Yes. I am addicted. Over the years, and more and more recently, my family and friends have chastised me, and rightfully so for me referring to myself as 'Miss Nappturality'. "But my hair IS natural under these weaves, wigs and braids" I would insist.

I was natural under these protective styles, yes. But while my hair was growing, it wasn't necessarily healthy. Because I wasn't moisturising my hair, it got dry and brittle. Resulting in numerous split ends.

Nevertheless, when I took out my last protective style- an install of mini twists using New Jamaican Bulk Hair, I decided that it was time to rock my natural hair. A little weary at first and also a little curious as to how my hair would look blown out and flat ironed, I decided to try out the Beautiful Textures Texture Manageability System (TMS). This system promised to turn curls and kinks into straight hair and keep it that way for up to 4- 6 weeks.

So this is what the product looks like:

And this is my hair before I put the product in:

And my hair after I put the product in and flat ironed my hair. And yes yall. I followed the instructions to a t.

So as you can see, my hair didn't get bone straight as promised. Now the product does advise that this system should not be applied to weak or damaged hair so I don't know if that is why I did not achieve my desired results. But ohh wells. Onward with the natural hair journey and adventures.

Mini Twist Extensions

So I was feeling for some braids. Now I know havana twists and box braids are all the rage right now but I wanted braids (or rather twists) that I cud style easily and that were lightweight. I decided that I would do some mini twist extensions using Bijoux Realistic New Jamaican Bulk Hair.

I shampooed and conditioned my hair and plait it in a few big plaits all over my head. I allowed it to dry overnight. The next day, I got started on my twists.

Here is the first twist:

Here is the first row complete:

Some more twists done:

And finally complete.

This style took me a total of 12 hrs to complete. I also braided my hair into 10 plaits and curled the ends with cold wave rods and dipped them into boiling hot water in order for them to be curly. A little time- consuming and labour- intensive but totally worth it. This style lasted me 2 months, with just redoing the perimeter of my hair every few weeks.

Bonus pic. When I got a little bored with my hair I decided to add some blonde hair to this style.

And here is my Youtube video of how I achieved this hairstyle. Enjoy! :)
